Boredom Busters

Question Posted Monday June 26 2006, 2:56 pm

Well its summer now. WOOT! But the problem is most of my friends are away at camps or family vacations, etc. I, too, have things to keep me busy (horseback riding, showing, running, drum lessons, camp for two weeks) but not busy enough. I get so bored really easily during the summer because during the school year I'm so busy that I hardly get my homework done and when everything stops, I don't know what to do. So I'm looking for everyone's great boredom busters, please!

Additional info, added Monday June 26 2006, 4:39 pm:
Sorry, I forgot to say that I can't do anything else that might cost extra money because my parents spend about $1,000 per month for riding (including board, vet/farrier/etc, show fees, and lessons) and my camp is $1,000. And I have a pool in my back yard so I'm not going to ask my parents to belong to the local one..

-Go swimming! And if you get bored of just floating around, do laps around your pool.

-Read. Go to the library and get lots and lots of books. If you run out of good books to read, go on Advicenators and ask for suggestions :)

-Shopping! If you can walk or take a bus/the subway to any malls, do it! You don't have to buy anything, for most people looking around is just fun.

-If you have a camera, take picures. Take them of yourself, your family, your friends, or just whatever. Some of the best pictures I've ever taken have come out me having nothing better to do.

-Clean out your closet. Try on all your clothes and get rid of what doesn't fit and what you don't like. When you're done, you can either donate all your old clothes to charity or sell that to a used-clothing store.

-Write a poem/song/story or draw! Be creative!

Hope these help, and have a great summer!

Well, you could go on the computer, see if their is a community center around you. They have fun activities and you can make new friends. If you have a pool around you, you could go to the pool. If you like to read, get a library card and get some books.

Hope I helped you!
