hi, a few weeks ago i realised that the cere of my budgie was crusting on the edge, and a couple days ago i ordered some scaley face medicine. will that make it ok? also, when i bought it, the person at the petshop said it was a boy, but where it has crusted it is blue, and in the middle where it hasnt crusted MUCH, it is brown. so is it male or female? thanks in advance

Scaly face is normally grey or white coloured lesions and caused by mites. So if it is brown in colour it may not be scaly face.
It does sound as though it is a boy but in view of the problems you are having, I really would suggest taking it to a vet. If it is mites but not scaly beak, you will need to have them identified and treated correctly, as left untreated, the bird will get worse and it will be much more difficult, and expensive, to treat.
Best of luck.
