I don't know if it's the same for all miscarriages, though. But you should be going to a doctor no matter what, so make an appointment right away.
kristen22 answered Thursday June 22 2006, 10:44 am: Most times, early pregnancy failure occurs because there is something wrong with the fetus, such as a severe defect or abnormality. When the fetus is not developing properly, hormone levels in a woman's body drops, and the pregnancy begins to disconnect and pass from her body.
Typical signs of early pregnancy failure include
slight vaginal bleeding or spotting
severe abdominal pain
severe cramps
dull lower-back ache, pressure, or pain
on-and-off lower abdominal or thigh pain
a change in vaginal discharge
Although these are common signs, not all miscarriages are painful, and many women have early pregnancy failure without knowing it.
Early pregnancy failure occurs in 15 to 40 percent of all pregnancies during the first 20 weeks.
If you were early enough in your pregnancy, say in the first 1-5 weeks, you could of passed the fetus without even knowing. The only way to find out is to go to your Doctor right away! What a pregnancy test does is see how much of the pregnancy hormone you have in your body. This is just a hormone it detects, not if there's an actuall fetus in the womb. If your over 4 weeks of pregnancy have you expierenced bleeding? back pain? or lower stomach pain? Go to the doctor you will need to have a D&C done to remove the lining and the fetus. I'm real sorry if this is what has happened to you. I have been there. Just please go to the Dr. right away. Your baby may be fine but you won't know till you go.
