new friends or the old ones?

Question Posted Wednesday June 21 2006, 1:20 pm

I'm taking summer gym, and me and my one friend have been making some good friends. But our other 2 friends are being kind of mean. Like when we walk a couple of laps in the morning, we'll be walking with some of the new people we've met, and it'll just be them walking, but whenever I go to them, they go all quiet and start being kind of mean. My thought was that they might be a little jealous because they haven't made much friends yet. But I don't know why they would do that. I really like my new friends, but I don't want to leave my old friends either, but they do get mean, and very controlling at times, and they make fun of us a lot for jokes, but it still hurts our feelings. What should I do? Thanks!

I don't know why they would be jealous either but it sure sounds like they are.

I also don't know why they call you names and make jokes about you if they are friends. Real friends just don't treat their friends like that.

Tell them that and if they can't stop then don't hang with them at all. :)
