NYC
Okay so me n a good friend of mine plan on moving to NYC once we graduate..but we dont know the first thing about it. we dont want to live in a run down or "bad" neighborhood..my friend said she wants to live in a fancy neighborhood like not rich but not one that will have us fearing for our lives...i know this sounds kinda stupid but i've never been to NYC myself and you hear all sorts of bad things about certain places..can anyone give me some information or a topic to google..i would google this but i dont have the slightest clue as to what to google..Thanks sooo much!

I just recently went to New York on a family trip and stayed there for about 3 days. Manhattan is sooo interesting and fascinating. I live in California so the culture and lifestyle was a shock. I totally want to go back.
Well, I don't want to dissapoint you but then again I don't know that much about housing prices down there... but its kind of expensive. There are so many different areas you can live in, in Manhattan so you'd kind of have to look around. Theres China Town, Harlem, Upper East Side, Soho, East Village, West Village (( "Friends" was based in one of the Villages )) and so many more. In order to live in the type of neighborhood you guys want, you're going to have to have some money & a good job. Also, you'd have to figure out what you want to do career wise because it has a lot to do where you live. Upper East Side is a really high scale area and its really convenient if you work around there which is where a lot of businesses are.
Your best bet would to find some real estate websites and search for apartments in Manhattan & keep your eye on prices, etc. Also, look into all the different types of neighborhoods and pick one thats good for you. And look into what exactly you want to do for college or work while you're out there. I know theres NYU and Columbia or whatever. Good luck!
