Where I went to at Planned Parenthood they gave me the option of saving the testing until I came back for my three month refill and since I was soo scared about getting the blood test and also running out of time to catch my ride, I opted to wait until next time. So no, I haven't been tested yet, but at Planned Parenthood it's mandatory after the three month mark.
They basically explain all of the side effects, and give you a talk about effectivness and STD's and explain how to take your birth control. They also have you ask them questions and are really helpful. ]
Here is a site that tells you what all will go on during your first pelvic exam. It is required prior to your being given a prescription for birth control.
If you have any questions you can think of you'd like to ask the doctor or his nurse while you are there, write them down before so you don't forget them in your nervousness! Look around this site too because it has lots of useful info. It might also cause you to think of some things you want to ask about tomorrow. :)

Well when I went to the gyno, they gave me a pap smear, breast exam, and a uterus exam. Then they checked my blood pressure, height and weight.
Then they explained all about the pill, side effects, what it does, how to take it. They give you the pills and you leave. I don't know if you have to go to the gyno or not, I did. So, if you don't have to go, just disregard everything I said before I started talking about the pill. ]
they tell you about what you are going to be going through. symtoms, the chance that you could still get pregnant, everything you need to know. mostly its like a plan parenthood and they tell you everything about protection, STD's and more. if you are on birth control you should still used a condom because they are only 99% accurate and they dont protect you from getting STD's. be careful!!!!!!!!! hope i helped ]
