I really appreciate the time you took in anwsering me about my 5 month old dog & his issues (mounting my daughter).
Thankfully we have gotten & followed great instruction about teaching our dog his postion in the family klan. At the same time I understand this mounting issue can be a sign of something.
All that to ask, do you think neutering our dog will affect if muscle build, and overall size? I know this is vanity but it is a concern.
Thanks!

Nallie answered Thursday May 18 2006, 9:26 pm: Sometimes neutered dogs become more docile and have a tendency to gain weight. However, I have not noted a difference in size or muscle mass in any of the dogs I have had neutered. As long as the dog doesn't have any health problems and gets regular exercise the muscle mass should develop normally. As far as size, I think this could be addressed with nutrition and a higher protien dog food. However if the breed of dog you own is prone to hip displaysia, or if hip displaysia has been discovered in other dogs in his family you wouldn't want him to gain weight too rapidly anyway.
