Jobs..ehh

Question Posted Thursday May 18 2006, 6:42 pm

Alright, to start out I'm fifteen years old and looking for a job. I have applied at these two places, either of which I would really like to work at. One of them isn't hiring anymore I don't think but I am supposed to call back tonight to check. The other restaraunt, I talked to a girl who works there (she's also 15) and she is quitting this weekend, so I'm pretty sure there will be a position open. The thing is, I went in to pick up the application two days ago and I talked to the stand-in manager who wasn't sure if they were hiring (it would be bus work, btw) but he told me the manager would be in all day Friday. So I filled out the application and I think I am going to stop by the restaraunt after school tomorrow. The thing is, I'm nervous! I don't know what to say, or even if it's a good idea to go in person. Any ideas? I will rate high, I promise! Please think through your answers.

I will love you forever! ♥

The person below pretty much summed everything up. If you know the manager is going to be there. when you go there to give them the apllication ask for the manager. Going in person is much better. I was nervous when i had my interview but really theres nothing to be nervous about.

Wear khaki pants or black slacks to school. you dont have to wear this beyond fancy shirt but nothing that looks kinda sloppy because if they do the interview when you hand them the apllication you dont want to look like a sloob (im not saying you are) But jeans arnt a good thing to wear to an intereview.

Hopefully i helped.

Its a great idea to go in person. If they need someone badly they may look over your application and hire you on the spot.

No need to be nervous. Well, you will be a little but its natural. Don't wear your worst outfit. Dress nice but don't overdo it. School clothes might be okay so long as it isn't jeans and t- shirt. They know you will be nervous and take it into consideration.

Good luck! :)

Edit*********

If they are nice jeans then they will be okay. Keep away from those kinds that look like they are dirty. Know the ones I mean?

Wear a nice shirt or something though if you can. Nothing to revealing or anything (unless the restaurant is a Hooters or something LOL).

Just go in, ask for the manager. Tell him/her that that you are wanting a job and that you filled out an application a couple of days ago. Ask if they are hiring and if so, ask if he/she has had a chance to look at your application.

Hopefully if they are hiring and haven't looked at your application yet, they will go take a look at it. If not, ask when you might check back.

I hope you get the job! :)
