reinstalling dell/the whole computer my computer is so messed up right now that i am about to reinstall the WHOLE thing.. what can i do? do i have to buy a disk for this or something? i have a cd that says something like installing dell blah blah.. i dont know though? doesnt anyone know what i should do? i have dell laptop

Ok, essentially what you need is:
1- A disk with the operating system you are using (presumably Windows)
2- One or more disks with all the drivers for your computer (graphics card, net card etc). Presumably that is what the "installing dell" CD has. If you dont have this they can be retrieved from the internet, but that can be a bit annoying.
3- As the person before me said, backup copies of everything you want to keep.
When you are ready, just put the windows cd in the drive, instruct the computer to boot from it (in the BIOS) and just follow the instructions. ]
I'm no computer genius but you have to save everything under My Documents and then upload all the files you want to save onto a floppy disk or a CD. ]
