i have a Canon PowerShot A540.
my sister and her friend were using it, i don't know what they did, but now whenever i try to turn it on it beeps and says E18 on the screen. does anyone know what this means or how i can fix it? the batteries are new, it has nothing to do with that.

i saved my manual in a box with all my others, bu for some reason i only have to spanish version and although i could still figure it out with that, i'm too frustrated to do that..

ok what i would do is throw it as high as i could into the sky and then let it land on some concrete or soemthing really hard and when that happens it will be fixed...i swear

hey, you really ned to read that manual. if you cant read spansih have someone you know that can translate it for you. you oculd also call the company your camera came from. cait♥

If you haven't check either the manual/CD that came with the camera, or if you haven't checked Canon's website for Help and/or manuals, that's where you should start for finding the answer. There are so many different digital cameras on the market, that to find someone with the same camera as you and hope they have had the same error is not going to be easy. Most manuals will give you a list of all Error Codes and exactly what they mean.
