Masturbating Addict

Question Posted Wednesday May 10 2006, 1:19 pm

I'm a 20 year old girl, and I have a problem with masturbating. I do it at least 7 times a day..thats at the least! Ive been told its because I'm still a virgin, but I have lots of friends who are virgins and they dont have this problem. I also heard that masturbating too much can make a girl lose her virginity. is that true? and can someone please help me with my problem?

Firstly, as long as your masturbation habits aren't affecting you or anyone around you then you have nothing to worry about. By affecting you I mean interfering with your daily routine and relationships, but affecting other people I mean offending them. There is nothing wrong with masturbation, it's just a sign that you know how to pleasure yourself and you're healthy.

Secondly, masturbation has absolutely nothing to do with virginity. Okay, so maybe if you were having regular sex you would feel less need to masturbate but most women continue masturbating even when they have a healthy sex life. In addition, you can't lose your virginity by masturbating too much. You may break your hymen, which is the thin layer of skin inside your vagina but that does not count as losing your virginity so you have nothing to worry about.

[EDIT] Some people do think that if you break your hymen then you are no longer a virgin but it's not true. You can break your hymen by using tampons, doing lots of sport and even horse riding. So really, it has nothing to do with virginity at all. You are only no longer a virgin if a penis enters your vagina. [/EDIT]
