Why are cigarettes legal but marijuana, etc. is not?

Marijuanna is a dangerous drug that can have lifelong consequences, it can make you high and do some stupid stuff. Some people can control is while others can't. Cigarettes on the other hand just do damage to your health and not make you high

because cigarettes cant get you into a lot of trouble.. smoking them enough wont get you high enough to go and do something stupid.. cigarettes just kill your lungs and heart
