ALWAYS happens to me too!!! Try using a little moisturiser after you've shaved. Don't put deoderant on straight afterwards, because it won't work after moisturiser. If you shave under your arms at night before you go to bed, put a little moisturiser on and massage in, you should have no problems and you can use deoderant the next day.

Alternatively, there are also a lot of deoderants and anti-perspirants that now contain moisturiser so you could also give this a go.

hey, i'm not sure if there is anything specific you can use on your armpits to make it go away, but just don't shave them for the next couple of days until the dance! just use deodorant and put some moisturizer on them after you shower! that may sound gross, but if you shave them again you will only get more razor burn and ingrown hairs! so just wait until the hair peaks above the skin, and then shave it in the shower with a lot of shaving cream and a good razor (make sure it is not dull)! do it the night of the dance! you should be good to go! :) good luck!
