ok i am a 13 year old boy. i listen to rap music all of the time. its my favorite kind of music. and because i am always listening to it on my iPod all of the kids in my school call me a wigger, but im not. i just like rap music. i dont act black at all, i just listen to rap music. i dont know what to do.

listening to a certian music type shouldnt make you get called names, you just like that certain type of music. wigger is just a stereotype, much like prep, goth, jock, ect. the stereotype of the wigger usually involves a young white person who generally knows little about the the culture they are appropriating, with the exception of the music, style, and slang associated with that culture. in this case, the culture is hip-hop or african american. personally, i like rap music too. but i also like rock, alternativem, and some country. sorry to tell you this, but you cant really do much about this situation. as long as your true to yourself and happy, it shouldnt really matter what they think of you. i know, it does though. maybe try not listening to your ipod as much in school or public places. or try adding a couple pop or rock songs too. or if you dress "black" then just stop. haha, im sorry that they judge you though. thats not cool :(
