Confidence and self esteemless =(

Question Posted Thursday April 20 2006, 9:10 pm

Everyone tells me through all the questions i ask how to be more confident! i dont no how.. like i cant build up my self esteem by just saying posotive thing to myself and anytime i receive a compliment i throw it away and dont take it..idk what i can do to be more confident or talk more confident becasue i hate rejection... is there anything i can talk about topics maybe or what i can do to become more confident in myself without self talk becasue that doesnt really work...

hey! well ok the whole talking to yourself thing... that eventually does work, but it takes a while. are you in your early or mid teens? most people around that age have self esteem problems... i did too! just pick a couple of things that you love about yourself. anything... even the smallest things. pick a few things about your body and a few about your personality. every time you look in a mirror don't even look at parts of your body that you don't like... everyone has those. just look at your favorite parts and admire them. tell yourself how nice they are, and dress/do your make up to emphasize them. why not have a mini make over? get a totally new haircut, go out and buy an outfit that you feel absolutely amazing in... little things like that! as far as things you don't like... every time you are upset over those, just think how much worse they can be! think you have big thighs? they can be much bigger! think you have small boobs? they could be much smaller... or think of all the women who have breast cancer and have to have parts of them cut off! sorry to be so graphic, i am just trying to make you realize that things can be much much worse! so why focus on the bad things? just find the things you love, and admire those every day!

Hmm, i have the same exact problem as you. Maybe you need someone to reassure you how nice; "good-looking" ect. you are, all things like that, though i have someone like that, it still doesn't help me. I prolly shouldn't of answered this question because i have no real answer, being i'm in the same situation. But i can say you might just wanna find your "inner-self" and realize the good things about you, it may make you feel better about youself. Sorry if i wans't much help. :/
