Put your CD in the computer and pull up iTunes. You'll notice on the left side of the screen your disk will show up and the name of the disk will be there. Click it.

You'll see all the songs listed with checks in the boxes. Uncheck any songs you don't want. Then, on the top right of the screen click 'burn' and just wait for them to burn over and tada! You have your disk in iTunes.

You put your CD into the computer, bring up iTunes, and then a list of the songs on your CD will appear. Select the ones you want to transfer by checking the small boxes beside each song. Then hit "Import" or something similar to that in the top right hand corner. Then once the songs are imported, plug in your iPod and update it.
