Im fourteen and I have always wanted to be a doctor when I get older. What should I be doing to help prepare myself? I mean, I know I should work hard in school, but I want to be a pediatrician and so is there any good books I can study?

Yes you are right, you should work really hard in school because good grades will count for a lot when you want to apply for college.
I wouldn't get to in depth in the medical studies just yet, you are going to need a lot of basic knowlege first, that's why even Dr's take pre-med.
However, you can focus on chemistry, biology and the science aspect for now, so read books on those subjects.
Don't worry about doing any specific reading on pediatrics, but perhaps you can candy stripe at a hospital in the peds area? [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]

Just take the right classes, and you can learn a lot about the basics, and ask your teacher all the questions.

You could also ask a librarian at your local library and see if he/she may know any good books on how to become a doctor. You can also do a google search for best becoming doctor books. This is the best I can do for you. [ Adviceguy158's advice column | Ask Adviceguy158 A Question ]
