I want to subscribe to a good, smart magazine. Do you know which ones are reliable and not too hard to read? For example, The Economist is too complex for me. Is Times good? I don't really like it when articles cite a situation or something I haven't learned about because I will get hung up on that.

It all depends on what you're interested in.
If you're into scientific discoveries, then you should check out Scientific American. It's not too complicated, but it's at a higher level than most magazines.
