loves2shop86 answered Wednesday April 12 2006, 9:59 pm: yea, like the person below me said, this is because you only need a phone, and you are not re-newing or getting a new contract! a lot of contracts expire after 2 years, so check out if yours does any time soon! if it does, then just wait and you will be able to get a phone for cheaper (or free!) when you renew the contract. If, however it doesn't need to be renewed any time soon, you can try getting a phone on ebay! you can get new and used phones on there, and they are usually cheaper than at the store! just make sure that you have a GSM phone (one with a sim card) and make sure that the phone you buy online is "unlocked" and as a result compatible with all service carriers (verizon, cingular...)! once you get it, all you will have to do is get the sim card out of your new phone and into the new one! if you don't have GSM, then you will have to buy the phone at the store! :( sorry!! let me know if you need more help! good luck! :) [ loves2shop86's advice column | Ask loves2shop86 A Question ]
