My sister

Question Posted Monday April 3 2006, 8:31 pm

My sister is a tiny girl. She's 13 years old, 5"1 and 89 lbs. I'm concerned that she's unhealthy. Is this a healthy weight for her?

For her age and height, that's not so bad... when you're at the beginning of adolescence you haven't completely filled out yet and also tend to have a higher metabolism... but if she seems like she's trying to lose weight or actually losing it, I would be concerned.

It's on the skinny side, yeah. Being that she's only 13, I would say that's not a huge issue for now.
