period..

Question Posted Friday March 31 2006, 7:50 pm

I got my period the first week of March (2nd-9th), it finished then came back the second week of March (14th-17th) and now it came back today (31st).
I understand it may still be irregular considering the fact that I am 14 but the most I got it in one month was twice.
3 times in one month has never happened before.
Should I be worried? Should I go see a gynocologist?

I don't think you need to worry.
I've gotten mine a few times in one month too.

However, if this doesn't stop in about a year/two years of your very first period I would look into going to see a gyno.

:) don't worry about it, its perfectly normal.

I really don't think you need to worry. I know a few people who had so many problems with their periods when they were younger that one person had it for almost 2 months straight!!

Unfortunately, when you're in the grip of puberty, your hormones are so all over the place that it's difficult to know what is going to happen next and where and periods are, unfortunately, the curse of pretty much every woman's existence from the day they start!!

If it really is getting to be a pain (and it sounds like it is!!), or if they are giving you very bad cramps, go and see your doctor about it. I doubt there's anything wrong but it's always best to get checked out to be on the safe side. Also, he may be prepared to put you on The Pill. Doctors often prefer to start you on it when you're older. However, if you are suffering particularly badly with your periods, the Pill helps to regulate them and can often reduce the symptoms of PMS.

In the meantime, try not to get too stressed out, as this can also have an effect on your period.
