Jail is for a short term stay, for ex. a criminal gets arrested and is waiting for his/her court hearing or when somegets arrested for a small offense and have to sepnd the night in jail.Wjile prison is for long term staya have a criminal has been sentenced. Hope I helped! ♥ caitie

I think prison is for more people who have done worse things && that are doing hard time..
Also prison from my understanding is way worse then jail..They both are places i know i don`t want to go..

Dear difference,
The difference between jail and prison is that in jail you are in a cell that can occupy more than two people,less guards, larger cells, better food, there are common rooms that you might be able to play video games (im serious) and watch tv. Jail is the exact opposite. Jail is just a miny deliquent home but or all ages.
