8th grade dinner/dance

Question Posted Sunday March 19 2006, 9:30 am

Okay well i just got my dress for the dance.. but now i still need other things/.
My dress is brown with pink polka dots and a pink robbon around it, then it 's shortish and poofs at the bottom. It's Jessica Mc Clintock. It's cute.
Okay, then i need shoes and i was thinking maybe these brown one's i saw at Nordstroms but i'm not sure.
I'm getting my hair done and makeup. Now, For my hair,I have medium-dark brown hair. It's about 2-3 inches past my shoulders. In 3 months it shoudl also grow longer. I have wavy/curly hair . For makeup, I have fairish skin with light freckles. I want something bold and different. I still want it to be cute though with the whole dress thing.
I also don't know what assecories to get. I think i want these cute pink gloes and maybe pink beads/perals and a bracelet. Please help. If you can show me any pictures that would be nice. thank you. <3

hey babe- i know exactly what dress your talking about, my friend wore it to this years frosh formal!
okay so lets see.. brown shoes would work.. like strappy. i would not get bronze-ish however if you want to do like silver jewelry...which i dont recommend.
k for the hair...i would get it done like you said. you can bring a pic to the stylist or just explain to her what you want. for my formals i like to do like a half up and the ponytail part in a curly bun and the rest like wavy curls.
well that made no sense but i hope it did, i can show you some pics if you need it
i wouldnt get your make up done for an eighth grade dance..sorry it seems a waste of money to me. if you want to do it yourself just play you eyes up with some mascara, brown eyeliner (cuz the brown dress...) and some earthy toned eyeshadow..not too dark though. you could do like a gold or brownish tone. then just stick with a clear lipgloss.
accessories are usually a big problem for me..too many looks waay way overdone and too little look cheap. okay, well for jewlery.. i would go with some pink pearl earrings. no necklace, because that dress you have is straight across right? i think the top would be too busy.. i let the jessica dresses show off my neck. def. no gloves. sorry but its awkward looking to me..and dear God def. not pink ones. i'd say just skip the gloves.
k girlie that was a lot of advice i piled on you. if you have any ques. just pop them in my inbox! =] --mk.

i think if your dress is strapless, you should go with the necklaces, but if it isnt, your better off with just dangling earrings. if you wear both, its kind of overpowers the dress.

for the makeup, you should mainly focus on your eyes and keeps everything else neutral with a sheer lipgloss.

for the shoes, you should get maybe light pink flats. i think it would look very cute, but if your short, go with heels.

the hair kind of depends on your dress, if its strapless of a halter, i would leave it down or halfway up. if it has straps, then put it up.
i hope i helped! <33
