hi, youve come highly recommended so i decided to ask you something..
well im 13/f and a couple of time the subject of my dads come up.. like could your dad do a ride tonight? and oo whats your dad do? well my dad has either been in jail or rehab for the past year.. and im sick of making excuses for why hes never home, like once one of my friends asked me how come shes never saw my dad
so should i keep making excuses or just tell my friends about my dad, its really embassasing but i think my friends are getting kind of suspisous... what should i do

I don't think your friends will think any less of you if you tell them the story. If they do, then hey, they aren't such good friends after all.
Tell them he has a substance abuse problem (whatever it may be), and that he has been trying to get help. That's all they need to know for now.
Do not be embarrassed. It is not you who has the problem. The problem is your dads. You might look and see if there is an alateen organization in your area. They can be very helpful. You meet other kids who are going through the same things you are.
Here is a site that will help you find a meeting in your area. Your mom and other siblings may also be helped by them.
