Adobe Photoshop ImageReady 7

I am using adope photoshop7 to make an animated GIF for my myspace. Everything was going alright up until i saved it and tried to open it.

When i tried opening it, it said i had to download it to look at it! and the file name said this:
Filename.PSD ...

What is psd? how come when i saved it, it had said Gif? why did it change? grrr i need soo much help please

.psd means you can open and edit it with photoshop and it will have all the layer information etc attached to it. somewhere in file menu there should be a save as gif option do that, and then find the gif file. did you upload the psd file? if you did thats probably why it was asking you to download it, because browser windows cant handle them.
