okay so my brother wanted to use his headphones with my ThinkPad Laptop and when he plugged them in it worked fine but now when he took them out they dont work, and only work with headphones. so i plugged the phones back in to the headphone jack and then i plugged it into a jack that is red with a microphone pic above it and it started working again. this was yesterday. he did it again today and i tried the red microphhone jack and its not working again, and not even with what worked yesterday. whats wrong how do i get the volume back

Try plugging them into the headohone jack again. If they are headphones, they ARENT gonna work in a mic jack. So try the hdphne jack.
