My friend is mad at me for a very stupid reason.

Question Posted Thursday February 2 2006, 4:43 pm

Okay, first of all, I have a friend. She calls people idiots and stuff and is very negative about things. She even hit me once (hard!) and called me an a**hole, for (yes!), a stupid reason. I try not to hang out with her much because of her attitude.
I made a harmless joke about her, saying how she should be a tree surgeon because she likes nature (we were talking about them in class). I was just joking, and not intending to make fun of or hurt her at all.
After school, I saw her away message on AIM, and it said something bad about me!
Should I apologize for what I said?

Additional info, added Thursday February 2 2006, 4:46 pm:
The away message said something like:
"People who are on my list of bad things to come:" and it had some names, including mine!

The thing that makes ME angry is that she can dish things out, but she can't take it. She talks crap about people all the time, too. In a way, I think that SHE should apologize, but then again, I'm not sure. What do you think?

I wouldn't apologise.

She may not want to be a tree surgeon but its a legitimate job! Certainly nothing to get all bent out of shape about. If it hurt her feelings she is WAY to sensitive.

I think since you are on her "bad list", you should ignore her until she apologises. Then, I would take no more of her nonsense. If that means not hanging around with her anymore, then its up to you, I think I would just stop hanging around with her...after letting her know exactly why.

Who knows, maybe she will learn something and stop with the attitude.
