Laptop problems

Question Posted Thursday February 2 2006, 2:54 am

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. The d-drive is a cd/dvd player and cd burner. It worked fine at one point, but a couple of weeks ago, it stopped working all together. Soon after a drop in the floor, the dvd play started working, but it wont read cds now. My question is, how should i fix this. it will not read burnt cds with music, burnt cds with files, or regular music cds. i'm competely lost here. got any ideas?

Have the same laptop, same drive, same problem. Solution: Call the company and ask them what to do. 99% chance they will refer you to a place near by that would be able to fix it, like they don't recommend just sending it anywhere. They might just send you a box to have it sent back to them. But yeah, as for on your own, there really is nothing you can do to fix it by yourself. Hoped that helped and good luck.

Sorry, but there isn't a good answer to this. It's pretty obvious that it broke when it was dropped. So your only option is to have it repaired.

If it's still under warranty you can take it back to the place that you bought it. It would obviously be a good idea to NOT tell them that you dropped it, unless there's obvious damage.
