i have trouble making friends

hi well i am a swimmer and my best friends went overseas for the holidayz and when i go to the pool for swimming training i sit by my self and my dad always wants to take me early so i wont be late and i take my time getting everything ready and it makes him angry and i dont like it but i do it so the other kids will be in the water already and i can just get changed and jump in wit everyone else but i dont like sitting alone all the time and the thing is i dont get along with some of the other kids because they talk about me behind my back and spread rumours around about me.thats why i dont sit with them and my coach is encouraging me to go and sit with them so i have someone to be with but it bothers me because i know they dont like me so why go and sit with people i dont like.please help me i dont know what to do because everytme i try to make friends it all ends up in a fight.please help me.

Maybe you should try sitting with them a couple of times. They may be a little mean because they may think you don't like them. BECAUSE you never sit with them.

A lot of kids tease and make fun of those people they really don't know very well. Your other friends will be back before long, until they are just give sitting with the others a try.

You never know, you might make brand new friends. :)
