what are the requirements needed to be a cosmetolegist?

It varies state by state, but you need to have a license for cosmetology.
So you'd need to go to cosmetology school.

You could probably look online and see any schools near you and find some that you can afford.

Umm Idk where you live at all... But I know here, you have to be of 16 yrs of age to start any sort of cosmetology class. It's a state law here. There are a few requirements to the classes you take and you depending on what part of cosmetolofy you want to specialized in, you need a certain amount of hours. For nails, I do believe that is about 540 hours of class/training. And for hair, to work in a salon, you need over 1200 hrs I believe it is. I can't recall the exact amount of hours at the moment. But that's basically about it hun. If ya going into it, good luck and have fun.
