mail from NY to SF

Question Posted Monday January 9 2006, 4:46 pm

I want to send something to from NY to SF and was wondering if anyone knew about how many days it takes. I want it to get there on a particular date; so I want to know when to send it out.
Thanks in advance

it depends on what you are sending. if its normal mail i would think it takes about 3 days depends on what time of day you mail it. check with your post office.. they are the only ones who can tell you for sure

It really tends to vary, depending on what carrier you use and how much you pay.

Whenever you ship something, the company (UPS, FedEx, Postal Service, or DHL) will give you a number of shiping options. Generally, they'll be something like Regular, 2 day air mail, Next day shipping, etc. They'll generally tell you how long you should expect it to take for each of the options. You can typically find out these things on their websites.

The truth is, you can never know for certain. Sometimes things arrive a little earlier, sometimes a little later.
