Getting discovered

Question Posted Saturday January 7 2006, 11:36 am

I am an aspiring model/actress. I want to do it all. Even reality show stuff. And I want to know does anyone know any websites or something that I can go to for casting calls, interviews, etc. The thing is my parents don't want to put their credit card number online. So that is a problem. Any type of help would be great. Thank you in advance.
I will rate and leave comments:)

Where do you live? This can impact your chances of doing any type of show business. Are you at least 5'8''? If not, then you can forget about the model part. You need an agent before going to casting calls or auditions. Once you tell me where you live (and please leave your column name so I can get back to you) I can further asist you.

You do not need to live in NYC of LA to "make it big". Put belief in that, before pursuing this any further. It just so happens that many, many, many celebrities were discovered in small community productions, in the seemingly most barren of states. If you've never done community theatre, I suggest looking into that. Often times talent scouts will show up to see a performance, and even sometimes the director of the play may have some connections, if she feels you are worthy.

But anyhow, I found a few websites that I strongly urge you take a look at. It pretty much answers all of the questions that must be running thourgh your mind:

edit:: good im glad i offended you!

eidt::: most agents dont have websites.. you accually have to go find one.. and how can i get you an agent if i have no idea where you live... because they like have to live in your area Duh! and if you already knew what i told you you should said you did so i didnt tell you it! My god thats why the get rid of people like you on advicenators! me grateful

unless you live in la or nyc you arent going to find like anything.. and if you do its going to be bogus. you need to find an agent.. it can be pricey but they can make your dreams come true. once you find an agent they can find casting calls in your area and areas arround you
