why

Question Posted Thursday January 5 2006, 9:13 pm

Why does everyone on this site always assume that because a father is a teenager that they are automatically going to leave their child? I asked a question on here about a month ago and all the answers that I got relating to my baby and his father were that he is going to leave me and my son because he is a teenager and a deadbeat? Thank you

I dont know... but my cousin just had a baby and her boyfriend stayed with her. He even proposed to her. They are very happy together. People are just stupid and automatically assume.

The reason some people think that is because lots of fathers do that if they are young they are scared and take can't handle it so they live the mother and the child.

So people make their opinions by that but not everyone !

Well, of course not ALL fathers leave their girlfriends and children.

Because a guy is a teenager, it might seem that they might, because they are so young and aren't sure of what they really want, which isn't true in all cases, so people are just sterotyping.

If you are certain that your guy isn't going to leave you and your son, just ignore these comments. Try to not let them offend you.

Certainly not all teen fathers will leave their child and its mother. Mine didn't.

Statistically though, it happens all to often. And that is what makes news. That is what people will base their opinions on.

Those few brave men who stick around and accept responsibility are never given the applause they deserve.

Best of luck to you both. :)
