Here's my problem. When I had Windows 98SE on my Pentium 1, my Windows Media Player played just fine, but now I've upgraded to a Pentium 3 (still using Windows98SE) and the songs skip quickly through the whole song. Is there an adjustment I have to make? And where?
Thanks Cujo
Additional info, added Sunday January 1 2006, 10:57 pm: I have the latest Media Player 9 for windows98SE .I did try to uninstall and reinstall, but didn't have any luck .The songs are still skipping.
Can any one help?
In answer to the last reply,When I go to click on PLAY it doesn't have a selection for speed, but when I go to TOOLS and OPTIONS it has a choice of speed connections. I have tried them all! Still have the skipping problem.I just don't know what to do next! Any more suggestions? Please and thankyou, Cujo
Thankyou BagDad,your answer is correct. I had already figured it out for myself to try WinAmp. First I downloaded the WinAmp Free FULL version, but it wouldn't work...But then went back and downloaded the WinAmp Free BUNDLE version and it worked! Don't know why,but thankful that it did!

Has nothing to do with the playback. Also, the processer has nothing to do with this problem. My suggestion: Get Winamp [ bagdad's advice column | Ask bagdad A Question ]
15Kori answered Saturday December 31 2005, 12:26 am: If you are trying to play CD's from your drive, it might be the CD, but if they are songs that you have downloaded, then you should Follow my Directions: On your Media Player 9 there are different speeds that you can play your song with. Go into the "Play" Row and Go down to "Play Speed", Click on that and It will ask if you if you want to play it as "Slow, Normal, Or Fast". (Yours is probably on "Fast") Just click "Normal" and your problem should be fixed. I Hope I Helped.
