A Psychiatrist has a MD.
Can take around 9 or 10 years with undergrad, med school, intern and residency.
Perscribes medications just like a doctor.
Uses medications to help chidren with problems
Makes a doctors salary, probably more than a psychologist.

A psychiatrist is actually a doctor and can prescribe medicines for people that are bipolar or have schizophrenia. The amount of money they make depends on what degree you have. A psychologist makes about 50,000 a year (depending on business) with a master's degree (about 5 years). A pyschiatrist has to go to school to get a doctors degree (about 8 years). They, of course, make alot of money - about 80,000 a year and up (again, depending on busniess). [ xxoBriannax's advice column | Ask xxoBriannax A Question ]
