Question Posted Tuesday December 20 2005, 5:18 pm

I have a test on cells/ cell structure tomorrow. Besides flash cards and what not, does anyone know helpful websites or ways to help me memorize for tomorrow?

Flash cards are an ineffective way of studying for tests.

Your short term memory can only hold up to 7+-2 things, and in order to be comitted to long term memory the thing needs to be repeated for 20+ seconds. And even if you did commit something from flash cards to long term memory, there is very little connected with that and it will be hard to recall.

Attempt to remember it in multiple ways or connect it with some other memory. Use something like the Loci Method (associating answers with objects in the room. For example to remember the "Open-Door Policy" think of the door of the room as the answer. Basically associating the answer (in a meaningful way) with something you can see (without it being considered cheating))
that will allow you to associate the answer with something else lodged into your long-term memory.

All hail my mediocre studies in psychology.
