on itunes there are these things called podcasts and i was just wondering what are they and can i get them on my ipod mini? thanks!

They're free radio shows (that aren't on the radio) that any kind of iPod can get. Hit subscribe and you're good to go!

It is non-music audio broadcast that has been converted to an MP3 file or other audio file format for playback in a digital music player.

Podcasting, a portmanteau of Apple's "iPod" and "broadcasting", is a method of publishing files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically by subscription, usually at no cost. It first became popular in late 2004, used largely for audio files.
