Ipod && music

Question Posted Sunday December 4 2005, 11:18 am

I'll rate you good.
I want an ipod for Christmas. I have a few questions.

What is cheapest? What holds the most songs? How do you connect it to your computer? How much will they be? What ipod do you have/ recommend?

Where can I get FREE music? Where do YOU recommend I get music? (Limewire, Ares, etc..) Does it cause many viruses? How do you get the music into the Ipod?

I pretty sure the cheepest is the ipod shuffle but it has no screen and only holds 200 song.

I would reccomend the ipod mini but they dont sell them many places now because they are stopping them so you would have too look or you can get them on ebay. They hold 1,000 songs.

The other one holds like 10,000. I dont suggest the ipod nano because i heard the screen breaks really easily but if your carful with stuff then you could try.

As far as the music i have never heard of ares, but limewire is good. I personally think its kinda slow but that might just be my computer.

hope i helped

I want a digital camera.

The iPod Shuffle is the cheapest model, but hols up to 200 songs and has no screen. The regular iPods hold like 10,000. There is a wire that can connect into your firewire or usb port on your computer. iPods range in price from $99 (shuffle) to $399 (iPod video). I actually have the iPod mini (the colorful ones, mine is green), but they aren't really making those anymore; they've replaced them with the nano, which is way too small, physically, but it has the same capabilities as a mini (1000 songs). Your best bet is probably the standard iPod.

Free music is illegal, you are stealing from the artist. Most file-sharing sites give you viruses. I don't know how you'd get the music into iTunes or your iPod.

Happy holidays!

Well, I got my ipod last Christmas, so I have an ipod mini. I'm not sure if they still sell them though. I like it because it was like $200, and it holds about 1000 songs. I mean, if you get the regular Ipod, that holds 10,000 songs. Do you really think you'd have that many songs on there? I havent even got to 200 yet :) It's pretty simple to connect it to the computer. It comes with a wire that you hook to the bottom of your ipod, and the other end hooks into the thing in the front of your computer. I can't remember the name of the thing it hooks into, but it should tell you in the instructions.

Well, just a little tip for you: I think that whenever you download music for free, you are taking a risk at viruses. I don't think there is any program that is 100% safe. BUT, I would recommend LimeWire. That is what I used to use, but I don't download music anymore. To get the music from LimeWire to iTunes, you just have to like open the files and transfer them. I'm not quite positive on that one though =/ But once the songs are on the iTunes (the program that comes with your ipod to hold the songs in a library), you just plug your ipod into your computer, and it will automatically transfer your songs from your library to your ipod. If something wasn't clear enough, feel free to ask :)
