Dakmor answered Tuesday November 29 2005, 6:37 pm: The 2 is the y-intercept, and the .5 is the slope, hence the name slope-intercept form. .5 is also known as 1/2, of course, so you make it into 1/2x+2. Then you make a point at (0,2) since that's the y-intercept. You then make the slope of 1/2, with a line that goes up 1 and over 2, since 1 is the rise and 2 is the run. You also do -1/-2, to get it in the other direction. Voila. Hope I helped!
