Talking Work with Friends

Question Posted Sunday November 20 2005, 9:57 am

I have two very good friends that I use to work with. When we get together it seems like the whole topic of conversation is centered around what is going on at their work - which I'm no longer a part of. I feel a bit left out of the conversation and don't want to intrude on what is apparently a very important part of their existance. However I feel that they spend too much time on the conversation and to me it isn't all that interesting.. Actually I find it rather boring.. I try to listen but that is about all I do is listen. This happens everytime we get together. What should I do?

Tell them that you'd like to talk about other things than their work life because you have no idea how to relate to them. Or, on the other hand, you can just change the topic everytime they start talking about that.
