i like this guy that my best friend dated about 2 years ago how do i tell her and make sure its okay with her with out messing up our friendship

Okay, here's what I would suggest. Bring him up in conversation. Just "Oh, so about ______. Have you talked to him lately.." And then ask if she has any feelings for him. Then just ask if she would mind you dating him. Since it was a while ago, she PROBABLY won't. Just check first. [=
