That was definitely my biggest problem last year. I wanted to be everybody's best friend, play sports, AND keep good grades. Plus, do stuff like clubs, etc. It was REALLY hard. One thing you need to remember is to put school first. School is, more than likely, the base of your future, and that's what should be MOST important.

Think about friends in this way, the more people that you're friends with, the more drama, the more fighting, the more people you think you have to please. If you have a group of really close friends, that's better than having a lot of friends that you don't talk to much or are as close to. It's nice to have a lot of friends, but that COULD mean more problems. (I don't know how dramatic your school is.)

First year isn't the hardest academically, it's hard to get adjusted. Through middle school they still remind you about every little thing, and pretty much hold your hand. In high school, it's pretty much a reality check. Here comes life, get ready. It's all worth it though.

Be confident in YOURSELF. Nomatter what. (= Everybody's amazing in their own way, and if you have close friends, you're luckier than some. Don't let people's opinions get in your way of having fun and being yourself.

I'm actually at school right now, but if you leave me your AIM screen name, I'll be more than happy to IM you when I'm at home. Thanks!
♥ Melissa
