spacing out

Question Posted Sunday October 16 2005, 4:05 pm

ok i have been spacing out a lot lately. like i wont know when it happens and i wont know how long i am out. but i will space out. i will realise i am spaced after a little bit, but i cant move my self to bring myself back. its like i am not in my body anymore, or that it just wont move. i know this is weird but sometimes it takes me about 5 minutes before i can bring myself back once i realise that i am spaced out. once i bring myself back though, i have no idea how long i was gone. is this a bad thing? what can i do to stop it. also i have been diagnosed with ADHD about a year ago. i was on Strattera for it, but i cant afford it anymore. could this be causing it? i havent taken that for about 2 months now. but i also have been told that i have depression and bipolar. could that have something to do with it? soem oen please help me!

I would think that ADHD would be the polar opposite of what you are calling "spacing out."

This is definitely not the right place to ask this sort of question, either.

You need to stop asking questions online and ask a doctor. If your brain is functioning but you cannot make your body move and then have no idea how long it took to come out of your semi-paralized state. Get yourself to a doctor NOW. You need to talk to your parents. If for whatever reason they don't take this seriously, the first thing you need to do tomorrow morning at school is talk to your school nurse and counselor. Don't wait, do it NOW.
