have any of you downloaded any movies from limewire.. does it work and does it give you viruses?

however, you CAN download this DivX player thingy that will give you pretty much all the codecs you need for DivX (aka XviD) hacked movies. And if that doesn't work or you don't want to download that whole thing, there's this program called Gspot Codec Information Appliance (um. hah.) that when you run it and show it the file thats missing a codec, it will tell you the name of the codec you need. (And then you can do a google search on it to find where to dl it.)
(btw i've never gotten a virus, but my dad is really paranoid and has like 567320462 anti virus software thingys on my computer so yeah.) [ snarfism's advice column | Ask snarfism A Question ]
Chicken_flavored_eggs answered Saturday October 15 2005, 4:25 pm: It all depends on the source. Unless you know who is on the other end, you don't know what you are gonna end up with. When downloading anything from someone else's computer if they have a virus and your downloading material that they have its a good possiblity you may end up with one. Hope you have good anti-virus protection. I don't, but that's ok, I like viruses. I collect them and then name them....
