Question Posted Thursday October 13 2005, 9:57 pm

What do you think is better to get? An ipod or another mp3 player. I heard that a zen micro is really good. Does anyone have them? What is the advantage and do you enjoy using it. Or does anyone else have something different that they think is better?

It depends on how much music you like. Personally, I think you should get an iPod. And don't think I'm being judgemental or anything, because I have both an iPod and an mp3 player. An iPod holds more songs and it's pretty easy to import songs. I love my iPod. It's so easy to use. But if you're looking for less songs, then use an mp3 player or get an iPod mini. It's up to you. Have fun :)

I have a Zen Micro and I think that it's great.I chose it over the Ipod Mini, mainly because for the same price you get 1GB more of space for your music.I also liked it's design a little more than the Ipod's.But,now that the Ipod Nano's are out,I would probably go with that instead.

Contrary to what another person said, I find my ipod battery lasts quite long. I have a mini. For me, it's really convenient, itunes is very easy. One advantage of using an iPod and iTunes is subscribing to podcasts and putting them on your mp3 device is easier and theres a whole section for them on your iPod and everything. Of course, theres iPodder and everything now. But yeah. DONT get a playstation 3 for a music player. It will only hold like 20 songs or something, and thats if you use it exclusively as an mp3 player.
Everyone I know has an iPod, I know a few people with the hp mp3 players but iPod people are a lot more enthusiastic about their players. plus, an iPod comes with a year warranty and theres a bunch of cool accessories and add ons that you can buy.
So personally, I'd reccemend an iPod, but I haven't really had any experience with other mp3 players. However, if one player is a bit better than another, I suspect it is marginal.

I have a little black Rio, and my sister has an ipod. My Rio is better than nothing, but I really really prefer my sister's ipod over anything else I've had an opportunity to try.

I have 6 gb iPod mini, which is now probably obsolete cos of the iPod nanos.

I really really like mine. Its very easy to use, has handy functions like a sleep timer, alarm clock, notes, and calender, and a couple of games, and is aesthetically pleasing

I'm not too sure if I'd reccomend getting one though. First off, the battery life isn't all that great, it runs out quite fast. It also depends what kind of a music listener you are-- do you have lots of albums or do you mostly download songs? If you just download you don't need much space because the file size isn't very big. In retrospect I would have gotten something with a greater capacity because I think I'm gonna run out of space soon. People also say that you're just paying half the price for the brand name, I dont know though.

So basically... buy an iPod if you value conveniance and aesthetics. If those aren't too important I'd look for something else.

:)
