Homecoming in three weeks. Help?

Question Posted Monday October 3 2005, 1:26 am

So, homecoming is coming up in about three weeks. My friends have all dates, we know what restaurant we might want to go to... but i dont have a date. I wanted to ask one of my guy friends [who's really cute] but he was planning on either going with another girl or not going at all... so there went plan A. I don't have many guy friends that I'm comfortable with going to a dance with, seeing that i've never been to a dance, ever in my life, except for summer camp. And i've only slow danced once, with a foreign exchange student. So it can be deemed that i'm not experienced whats-so-ever.
Aside from the question of "how do i get a date within two weeks?" [not three because i need time to buy a dress], there is another issue. There's this guy who's in about almost all of my classes and he lives down the street from me [which i did not know till this year]. And all my friends are pushing for me to go with him to coronation. Even though i've been saying that i wouldnt go with him, i'm kind of siding with the fact that i dont have a date and i need one... but i know if i should ask or not. I would much rather be asked than ask. But i dont know if he'd want to go with me especially when one of my friends asked him about asking me [at the football game and i was there too], he pretended to gag.... and i cant ask guys out...i asked one of my guy friends to coronation as a joke, and i couldnt even spit it out for like five minutes...talk about pathetic. Can anyone give me some help?

Additional info, added Monday October 3 2005, 1:29 am:
MM...forgot to mention. Most of the time when the guy [who lives near me and calls me a stalker jokingly cuz we have so many classes together], we're almost always teasing each other...i dont know if it counts as flirting though. If i flirt, i do it unknowingly since i dont really know what flirting is.... It's more like we 'insult' each other? lol...

CALLING #411. Help please. It's my first dance so i'm really desperate -clings to you-

i had the exact opposite happen to me...all my friends are going stag! one of my friends sisters wen to PROM alone...you don't need a date. any upperclassman will tell you that only freshmen think they need a date to dances. BUT i do understand that going alone with a bunch of couples has to suck! when your with the stalker guy, ask him to go with you! lol "hey stalker, wanna follow me to homecomming?" (wink) or write him a note in a class...dont make it like too much just a few simple words, thats it. let me know if you need anything else! <3

Why do you NEED a date? If you have female friends who also don't have dates, why don't you just go with them in a group. It's a ton of fun.
