party.

Question Posted Saturday October 1 2005, 7:02 pm

my birthday is November 7th and I need and idea for a party. I've never thrown a party for people over like 13 and sleepovers but this time I NEED guys there. My parents aren't really willing to do anything to help me (like going to the bowling alley then comming back here...theyre stupid about rides and stuff) but they have a lot of rules and parent stuff like that. I'll tell them to please stay out and don't come down to bug us and they answer "why not? this is my house...are you doing something you dont want me to see?" typical. disgusting. I don't have a lot of money since my parents make me get things myself...can anyone help me? thanksss!

Let's see here.. You can rent a like 2 movies and make them vote on which one they like the best. You can do some kareoke(sorry can't spell that) Some games that you can think of. Kinda have alittle time for just a couple of minutes for everyone just to chill and hang out and get caught up with everyone and everything that is happening. Get some CD's and play them and do some dancing. You can decorate the room with disco balls and lots of lights and flashing stuff. I hope this works.

Their concerns are not disgusting they are rational. It is indeed their house and their rules or the highway. You have to respect they do not want anything broken, stollen, destroyed or a hell of a mess behind from unruly teenagers. They know about drugs, sex and booze and the fact YOU CAN BE TRUSTED but CAN THEY? They have every right to supervise at home but stay out of the way.

They are legally responsible for anyone who gets hurt or brings booze, dope or gets in trouble. They don't want this in their house and they can control things better than you can and toss someone out. Even if your friends are good kids and not about to do this mom and dad still feel something is up if you want them gone so bad.

You can still dance, talk, party and enjoy yourself with them at home but not get frisky with guys or makeout until your face falls off onto the ground. Let's face it you have no choices otherwise it's their rules, supervision, house or you not getting to party and bust a move.

Parents understand you and your position but also know what tempation is for 30 kids looking to start something. It's easy for you to supervise 1 person but 30 people following the leader is what they are concerned about. Allow for this concession.
