The Birth Control Pill

Question Posted Monday September 19 2005, 11:15 am

Hi
I am 23 yrs old and recently started taking Tri-cyclen brand B. C. pills. I know that you are supposed to take them at the same time each day but no one is perfect. My pills are 28 pack and Sunday start. There was one day when I forgot til 2 hours later and another day for a half hour. I read that combination pills are okay to take off your schedule if you forget, as long as it's within 8 hours or something than it's not considered missed. So I should be fine if Tri-cyclen are combination pills. I assume they are from the TRI part but this is the first time I've taken them ever and rather than making another appt just to ask my MD that one question, is there any experienced birth control takers that can answer my question? I know that you should wait 7 days til you have sex unprotected after you take them so we did that. My bf and I only rely on the pill now since we've been together 6 months and he doesn't want to use condoms anymore. We've both been tested for STDS also so we're okay with that. so I want to make sure that I know what I'm doing.
Can someone please help me?

Thanks, I'd really appreciate it.
H

I've never taken Birthcontrol..but I do know that if you get off the pill you have to wait near 3 months before it exits your system completely...so I'm pretty sure if you are 30 minutes to 8 hours late...you're okay. You are 23 years old...then I'd say let him not wear a condom...things will prolly be okay. But, I'm not sure...

*Hope I helped a little*

You will be okay. The biggest reason for them telling you to take at same time each day is so you don't forget to take it. It becomes routine.
Nobody can be right on time every day! The main thing is just remember to take it. If you're a couple of hours late...no big deal. :)

Hey..
Ive been on birth control for almost a year and sometimes i messed up and dint take it at the right time.. you should be fine.. if you want to be positive then dont have sex for seven days but i doubt thats in need.. since you were only two hours off instead of more then eight then that answers your question you should be okay..

**Best of luck to you and your boyfriend always..**
