Hi! I need to do a temporary makeover on myself and need some tips. First of all, everything has to be as low budget as possible. Now, here's what I need. I have red hair and I need to make it look brunette or at least darker. Then I'll also need it to look somewhat blonde. Or a lighter shade of red. If anyone knows any cheap ways to do that that won't effect my hair long term that would be great! I also have really white skin and I want to make it look tan. Chest and up. I don't want to turn orange or anything... And I don't want to actually have to tan in a tanning bed. Any ideas? I hope I made sense! Thanx! Luv ya!
Additional info, added Thursday September 22 2005, 1:38 am: This has nothing to do with impressing anyone. I love making films with my camera and I'm need to be able to impersonate (sp?) some characters. Nobody has to ever see me like that except in the video. In fact, I'd prefer they didn't. Thus, the word "temporary".. Want to answer more questions in the Miscellaneous category? Red hair is so rare and gorgeous.. But if you have the need to fool around with it I'd reccomend Loving Care by Clairol if you just want it for a little while. If you want it for around a month or so, use Natural Instincts by Clairol. However, this doesn't wash out in a month if you dye your hair darker.. I've got personal experience with that. DON'T USE COLOR PULSE, THE COLORS ARE REALLY INTENSE! They look so unnatural and fake. But if you want a fun temporary color, they're fun. But they're fake. Loving Care and Natural Instincts are more natural and pretty.

Stay true to yourself and be yourself. So add some info please. Thanks [ PiNkKiss43's advice column | Ask PiNkKiss43 A Question ]
GDROB answered Sunday September 18 2005, 5:36 pm: My only question is WHY? What is so wrong with you now that you want to go to such length to do all this to yourself be it temporary or not? Coloroing your hair properly would take a professional to get it right after all you did to it. You would also have to get a professional for the tanning and there is much evidence of that being an unhealthy way to achieve a look.
From what I heard you also have to be 18 to do it and I have never heard of a child or teen being allowed to. It can cause cancer so do not mess with it. I know of no other way then direct sunlight that will tan a person and even that is dangerous. Coloring your hair is perhaps the easiest and only thing to try.
What bothers me here is you may be doing this just to impress some classmates or something. Do not waste your time. If they do not like you for you forget it same goes double with guys. I sense your problem may be a self-esteem issue with your body and pople liking you. That may be what needs the change and not you physically. The reasons you give for wanting to do this drastic makeover make zero sense to me. [ GDROB's advice column | Ask GDROB A Question ]
