If strep isn't treated it can lead to rheumatic fever...which causes problems with joints and more importantly your heart. Don't worry though, that's why you take antibiotics to get rid of the infection. It IS more like a throat infection than your ordinary sore throat. It is a bacterial infection rather than a viral one. I'm sure that's more than you want to know! But, you did get treated and that's the important thing! :)
